The inspiration for this post came from the many generous bloggers who have provided Sumèr with excellent and free Thesis tutorials and advice on how to operate it. A special thanks to you all.
The first lesson we learn in life is to share. It’s apparent that for some people this lesson has gone in one ear and out the other. Others implement this lesson, use it, and benefit from its results.
My point in bringing this up is because sharing is a fundamental element in human relationships—both on- and offline—and not enough businesses recognize its importance. This small, yet crucial lesson is essential for gaining exposure, trust, and credibility. For businesses who believe every bit of advice they offer should be compensated with cash, they may find themselves with fewer customer relationships, sales, and exposure. Not to mention, it’s annoying and a big turnoff.
I’ve seen many business bloggers hold back tips and advice in hopes of getting a buck for their expertise. I’m not saying give all your secrets away—after all, you might be out of a job that way. Rather, offer helpful tips and strategies that encourage people to follow you, connect with you, share your advice, and talk about you. Your efforts to share some of your expertise will pay off in the long run. Not to mention you can become a top blogger.
