I have tried to explain this to Twitter naysayers, who think Twitter is just a way to glorify mundane daily events,  many times. My favorite example involves me being stuck in the Charleston airport trying to figure out why my flight was cancelled. I searched &quot;delta airlines&quot; in twitter and found out from other users that Atlanta, Delta&#039;s hub, had been shut down for air traffic control issues.  If it wasn&#039;t for my real-time social media search, I would have had to wait several hours until the airport and airline spread the information.</description>
